Every weekend business

For 16 years almost every weekend Carl, Larry, Donnie, Larry B and me would pile in Carl's car with the trailer attached and head out to places like The American Legion in Columbia or to 6789 club over at Fort Campbell to provide music for those that wanted to listen. We were there to entertain the people that came to have a night out but "The Riveras" on stage were usually entertained more than those off the stage that were dancing or listening to us. Like the time we played the Rod and Gun Club at Fort Campbell.and an enlisted GI got in and decided the roof needed to be vented so he drew the .45 he brought with him and started shooting. Although it was a tense time I felt very sorry for the GI as the MP's really did treat him BADDDD. When all was over Carl said "Did all of us get behind that one speaker"? The answer was YES and 2 or 3 more could have joined us. I'll not forget you Carl and every time I see someone chewing on a toothpick or hear some of the songs we played and enjoyed I will grin and remember good thoughts.
